My Story
I’m a retired ad guy, brand strategist, palm reader, and a current Parkinson's sufferer.
The brand guy decides what story to tell, the ad guy finds a clever way to tell it, and the palm reader, well, no one in the ad business really knows what they’re doing, so we spend a lot of time pretending we know more than the client. The Parkinson's sufferer now spends his time looking for simple moments of joy and reflecting on life – its meaning as well as its oddities and absurdities.
I've published one novel, a work of historic fiction about sheep shearing, and three non-fiction books, each filled with quirky observations about skunks, Kirby vacuum cleaner salesmen, boy scout merit badges, penguin poop in the Antarctic, and a wild man from Borneo with a bone in his nose. From the mind of a simple man, each book is a collection of simple tales, and the big lessons they taught me.
